personalVPN™ app setup for macOS 10.14+

You will need to uninstall any previous installed software to use the new v3 software

  1. Open Finder
  2. Click on Applications icon on left of finder
  3. Right click and choose Move to Trash for any PersonalVPN or WiTopia applications
  4. Close Finder
  5. Right click on the Trash icon in your dock and choose Empty
  6. Click on Empty Trash when prompted

Download the macOS v3 software

  1. Click on the Customer Login button at the top of our site
  2. Login to your account
  3. Click on the purple Download/Setup button on your active services
  4. Click on the macOS icon to start the download
  5. Save the zip/installer to your local computer
  6. The installer is 25+Mb in size

  7. Open Finder and go to your Downloads folder
  8. Double Click on PersonalVPN zip file to unzip it
  9. Double click on the PersonalVPN folder to open it
  10. Double click on the PersonalVPN installer file
  11. Click Yes/Accept on options in the install process
  12. Allow access to the downloads folder when prompted
  13. Once the install is completed, move the installer to the trash
  14. Click on close to complete the install

Connect to the VPN

  1. Click on the PersonalVPN Icon in your dock
  2. Now click on the PersonalVPN Icon in the top right of your menu bar
  3. Choose Open
    • Click Smart Location to choose the closest location to you
    • Click Choose Location and then select from the list to determine the location you want to connect to

    You may be prompted to allow the software to add a connection to your computer. If you are click on ALLOW or the VPN will not connect

    For IKEv2 connections, you will be asked for your keychain password. This is NOT the VPN, this is your local computer asking permission to save the password for the VPN. You MUST enter your computer password not the VPN password here

  4. Once the circle turns Green you are connected to the VPN

Dis-connect the VPN

To disconnect the VPN, hover over the green circle on the main screen and click it so that it is no longer green and says just “connect”
